We own the new expansion of The Sims 3 already since November 13th and of course we have played it a lot from that moment. Our team even had a meeting to take a closer look at the game, together. During a few days after we recieved our copy of The Sims 3 World Adventures, we kept posting new screenshots, answering questions and we even placed a video of the gameplay on YouTube.
But now the time has come for the real review of The Sims 3 World Adventures by the S3N team.

So far, I’m completely hooked on this expansion pack. The new traits and skills are cool but the adventures are what’s getting me to want to send my Sim back to France. I haven’t even begun to explore the other two places to visit yet. I also love that she’s able to form relationships with the people she meets on her travels and invite them back to visit her. We’ll see what trouble Celia gets up to next. In the meantime, so far, this expansion pack is definitely worth the time I spent testing it out.

I hope World Adventures sets the pattern for future Sims expansions. Moving beyond just throwing more stuff into a box and putting a price tag on it, this expansion is built on a very compelling and consistent theme that breaks the Sims out of their current suburban environments but also gives them the opportunity to bring back new skills, stories and souvenirs that can impact their day-to-day life. It’s true that the scripted nature of the tomb sequences tends to go against the style of the rest of the game, but the puzzles are fun and the rewards are worthwhile.
