  • Probleem met 100 gratis Simpoints email

    Een flink aantal Simmers hebben van EA een email gekregen met daarin een code om gratis 100 Simpoints te krijgen voor De Sims 3 Store. Deze email is verstuurd aan iedereen die zich ooit  hebben opgegeven voor de (Engelstalige) The Sims VIP Newsletter.

    De code die bijgeleverd wordt bestaat uit 20 cijfers & letters terwijl de ‘Een code verzilveren’ pagina op De Sims 3 Store maar 16 cijfers & letters kan verwerken.

    Inmiddels hebben we begrepen dat het The Sims 3 Store Team aan een oplossing werkt en die hopen we snel te horen.

  • De Sims 3 Diesel Accessoires: videochat verslag

    Afgelopen dinsdag was er een videochat over De Sims 3 Diesel en ons verslag, gemaakt door AnsjJ2, staat online.

    In Creëer-een-Sim zag je meer kleding dan de kleding die we al gezien hadden, alle kleding ziet er erg netjes en afgewerkt uit. Ik vind het persoonlijk een hele vooruitgang qua kleding in vergelijking met het basis-spel. Alle kleding die in het pakket zit zijn voor jongvolwassenen en volwassenen, dus helaas kunnen tieners, kinderen en peuters er niet trendy bij lopen. Iets wat ik persoonlijk erg jammer vind, want er lijkt wel steeds minder kleding voor de kinderen te komen en steeds meer voor volwassenen. En na een hele lange tijd mooie mannenkleding te hebben gezien, kwam eindelijk de vrouwenkleding! Voor vrouwen zijn er net zoals bij mannen, nieuwe tops, jeans en, alleen voor vrouwen, ook volledige outfits, iets wat ik bij mannen niet heb gezien.

    ♦ If you’ve got sticky fingers, you can steal coins from the Well. You may get wet, or you may get lucky.

    ♦ Slot Machine Includes additional functionality when the Wishing Well is installed in your game: Use a Lucky Coin that you steal from the Wishing Well to play for Lucky Coin stakes (equivalent to §1500 Buy-In) to increase your odds of hitting a big jackpot!

  • SimCity Blog: Sounds of the City

    Een nieuwe blog is op de officiële website van SimCity verschenen, de Nederlandse vertaling is er natuurlijk nog niet maar die zal spoedig, ergens in de komende dagen, wel verschijnen. En dan melden wij het uiteraard meteen! Dit keer is de blog geschreven door Kent Jolly die vooral over het geluid gaat, klik op ‘meer lezen’ voor de volledige tekst.

    Hello, I’m Kent Jolly, the audio director for the new SimCity coming out in February 2013. I’ve been with Maxis since 1998. The first big game that I worked on was SimCity 3000 as a sound designer, and from there I went on to work on The Sims, SimCity 4, and Spore. It’s really cool to be working on SimCity again after such a long time. There is so much more we can do now than we could have done before. Today, I’m going to talk a little bit about how we’ve implemented traffic sound effects in this game, as well as give you a peek into some of the music.

    One of my favorite aspects of SimCity, and especially this new SimCity, is the challenge of creating a great traffic and city ambience. The reason I’m singling out the traffic is because it’s amazing how different it is this time around. Because of the GlassBox engine, the traffic is no longer a representation of congestion or road type, it’s actually showing you where people in your city are going. People are on their way to work, going out of town, going to the shop, going home, etc. That means that cars don’t just disappear because there isn’t “traffic” there, and it means that you don’t see trucks in an industrial area just because it’s an industrial area, you see all of this happen in your city because it’s really moving resources from a manufacturing plant to a commercial store etc. So, how does that affect audio?
