Als puntje bij paaltje komt, heeft EA uitstekend werk geleverd. Voor het eerst in al die jaren slagen ze erin om de geroemde Sims-formule over te hevelen naar de consoles. Gamers die al een versie hebben op de pc, laten deze game beter liggen want de pc-versie is nog steeds superieur is tegenover de consoleversie. Anderen kan ik enkel aanraden om deze game in je console te stoppen, want The Sims 3 biedt wel degelijk voor elk wat wils. Hoedje af.

Yes, we have another Sims expansion that adds less to the game than previous iterations, but is still fun to play. By now the amount of content is getting so much that you probably won’t use half of it. But then a true Sims fan will never have enough, and EA will be ready to provide us with our next fix. The bad behaviour is not encouraging for parents looking to get this for their kids, but for the naughty adult there could be something there.

Van de officiële De Sims 3 Facebook komt deze artwork van een nieuwe set die op De Sims 3 Store komt in December. Dat wordt weer sparen of de Sint of de Kerstman vragen!

Gisteren waren er al twee gameplay-video’s van De Sims 3 voor Wii verschenen. Vandaag nog een, wel door een ander persoon gefilmd, die ook wel leuk is om te bekijken. Jammer genoeg is het filmpje niet van hoge kwaliteit maar het is goed genoeg om een goed beeld te krijgen van het spel.
NOWGamer heeft een preview online gezet van De Sims Middeleeuwen, en in het review worden opzich nog steeds geen nieuwe details onthuld. Hun conclusie is dan ook dat ze het een goeie zet vinden om De Sims fris te houden, maar het een slechte zet is voor de fans van het originele concept.
But on the other, all EA needs do is ensure that each play is different enough that even multiple runs on the same goal (in the same way that Civilisation Revolution managed to compress the classic Civ experience so well) and the more limited structure shouldn’t even matter. It’s the same kind of emergent gameplay, just on a smaller scale – perhaps a reflection of the close-knit communities of the days of yore – and it’s this interesting setting that will make or break EA’s blast from the past. We’re going to miss phoning for pizza, though.
