Een No mosaic – censor haalt die blokjes weg als je Sim bijvoorbeeld op het toilet zit of onder de douche staat.

De tijd vliegt echt om en voor je het weet is het alweer eind oktober en tijd om te stemmen op 1 van de vele mooie inzendingen voor de uitdaging van de maand. Voor oktober was de opdracht een starterhuisje te bouwen van maximaal §20.000.
De uitdaging voor november zal weer een hele andere opdracht worden: zo is er voor iedereen altijd wel wat bij.
IGN UK geeft De Sims 3 voor Consoles een 7.5, hun kritiek punt ligt vooral op de gameplay. Volgens hun is de gameplay nadat je iedereen in het dorp kent erg eentonig en saai. Ik denk dat dat bij elke speler wat persoonlijker ligt, vooral als je in elke familie anders met die personen omgaat. Maar goed, IGN UK geeft De Sims 3 voor Consoles een 7.5, een ruime voldoende dus.
It’s amazing that The Sims 3 works so well with a controller and that many of the PC functions are still intact. So if you’re curious about the Sims and don’t own a computer, you should try out the console version. The instant gratification of the Karma powers plus the addictive formula of The Sims 3 is a winning combination, but the game isn’t perfect. With some minor performance problems and the limited world, this title lacks some replayability right out of the gate. However, if it’s a title EA supports with downloadable content like they do with the PC version, Sims 3 could have a promising future. The PC title is still superior, but if you can’t see that version in your future, the console port is worth your time.
CNN heeft een artikel online gezet waarin ze praten over het 10 jarig bestaan van De Sims, en hoe EA dat viert met nieuwe games. Verschillende games komen in dit artikel aan bod, maar met name gaat het over De Sims 3 voor Consoles. Het is een erg leuk artikel om te lezen en gaat toch is over iets anders dan de normale reviews, even weer wat anders om te lezen!

Millions of people in 60 countries around the globe are doing the same thing in the world’s most popular life-simulator franchise, “The Sims,” and have been for the past 10 years. The “Sims” franchise is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with a new release, “The Sims 3,” for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS. While it’s the first “Sims” title for the PS3 and Xbox 360, PC players have been living, dying, growing and sharing in the Sims world through 39 different games and expansion packs.
NOWGamer geeft De Sims 3 maar liefst een 8.7, de kritiek punten liggen vooral op de kwaliteit van hoe het spel eruit ziet en het geluid dat erbij gemaakt is, denk daarbij aan de muziek en de geluiden van Sims die door het dorp lopen. Verder melden ze dat de gameplay erg verslavend is en het al met al een erg leuke game is.
Additions to the console version come in the shape of challenges – little short-term goals there to offer constant rewards – and karma, which allows you to treat your Sim extra well (e.g. automatically repair/clean the house), or be a bit of a bugger to them (e.g. put a few ghosts in the house). These are clearly additions to cater for a perceived console audience, but they work fine.
There are a few niggles that stop The Sims 3 from being something genuinely brilliant, and we don’t just mean the fact that it looks a bit ropey. No, this is an age-old worry of controls translating from PC to console. The developers have done a good job of getting every little control in there and it’s easy enough to access whatever you need at the touch of a button (or two). But issues with accuracy, preciseness and the fact that it’s really quite difficult to quickly build something without encountering a number of issues mean it is a noticeable drawback. Move control would be welcome.
Gameinformer heeft een heel erg handige ’tutorial’ online gezet met uitleg over hoe je cheats moet gebruiken in De Sims 3 voor Consoles. Dit gebeurt niet zoals in de meeste games op de consoles, maar via een object dat ‘Spoot the Magic Lama’ heet. Hier staan de verschillende cheats zoals ‘motherlode’ en ‘kaching’, maar ook ‘Maximize Karma’ in.
Het is erg simpel te gebruiken als ik het zo zie, maar ik kan niet oordelen aangezien ik geen Playstation 3 of Xbox360 heb. Gameinformer heeft ook een belangrijke waarschuwing erbij vermeld, je kan die lezen in (meer lezen…).
- You must be in-game with your sims
- Press Start to bring up the pause menu
- Press the four shoulder buttons simultaneously. That’s L1, R1, L2, R2 on PS3, and LT, RT, LB, RB on 360.
- A dialogue box pops up and asks if you want to enable cheating. You do!
- Now you can select Spoot the Llama from the menu. Go to build mode, open the catalog, select “buy,” and find the llama by going to “Décor,” then “Misc Décor.” You can place him for free!
- Once the llama is on your lot, go back to live mode. You can interact with it to access all of the cheats.
